Brown Paper Packages - Part 2

Wrapping with yarn is great because it builds

anticipation for the crocheted goody that is inside.

Brown Paper Packages (Part 1)

Baby bootie shoe boxes


For this little project you need:

A wrapped present.

Card (Here is a link to a tutorial to make the card in the pictures.)

Yarn - I used worsted weight for the yarn in the picture.


Each row should have 10 stitches when finished.


Starting with a long tail - Ch 12. We want the tail to be long because later on we will use this tail to tie the piece around the box.


Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, sk 1, 7 dc.







Row 2: Turn, Ch 2 (Counts as a stitch now and throughout), 5 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 3 dc.



The arrow is pointing to where you need to place the last dc.





Row 3: Turn, Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 5 dc.







Row 4: Turn, Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 5 dc.





Row 5: Turn, Ch 2, 5 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 3 dc.






Row 6: Turn, Ch 2, 1 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 7 dc.





Row 7: Turn, Ch 2, 7 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 1 dc.






Row 8: Turn, Ch 2, 1 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 7 dc.






Row 9: Turn, Ch 2, 5 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 3 dc.






Row 10: Turn, Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 5 dc.







Row 11: Turn, Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 5 dc.






Row 12: Turn, Ch 2, 5 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 3 dc.






Row 13: Turn, Ch 2, 1 dc, ch 1, sk 1, 7 dc.
